Wine Tasting Sessions With Caroline Murphy
Do you like a certain wine but don’t know exactly why?

the confidence to experiment with different bottles?
The label doesn’t list the grape variety so how do you
know if you would like it?

Food and wine matching, what do you drink/serve with what?
Is it worth paying a little bit more for a bottle of wine and
will you be able to tell the difference?

our wine tasting sessions
Caroline Murphy, wine educator and holder of the Wine and Spirits Education Trust diploma, will be
exploring the world of wine, and France in particular, looking at how wine is made which in turn will give you an
insight into what your chosen bottle of wine is likely to taste like. In the sessions, held in Caroline’s home near
Domfront, you will look at, and importantly taste, wines from all the different regions of France discovering the
style, traditions and innovations coupled with food and wine
matching.
Each session will last for two hours, tasting three or four
wines relating to the topic for that week; these will be tasting
samples so there’s no need to worry about the drink/drive
limits. We will be starting with tasting techniques, how what
and why the professionals taste as they do. From there we
will look at what goes into the making of a bottle of wine,
progressing on to the various regions and grape varieties.
The group is open to ladies and gentlemen over the age of
18. Each session will cost €10, but a block of 5 sessions
booked in advance is €45.
